The Full Story
Saint Stephen Chapel Build
Saint Stephen Chapel has a big dream. We started out small, having Masses in a classroom of a school, then branched out to the Gymnasium, then to a small house. We've had Masses said by SSPX priests since 2017, and now we are expanding and building a beautiful traditional chapel.
This will be the first truly traditional Catholic church in Grants Pass.
Please take a look through our photos, check out the local wildlife, and help us to make Saint Stephen Chapel as beautiful as we can for more conversions and true devotion for generations to come.

Humble Beginnings
Our Chapel started in a classroom of a protestant school, with Masses celebrated by Father Stanich.
The very first Latin Mass in Grants Pass happened in this classroom.
Growth
Within the first year, we had 10 converts catechized, baptized, and many more returned to the Faith.
With no official building at the time, we often had Masses in the house of our Chapel Coordinator.

Inside the House
We made it into the Hoffman Way Property, starting with a small remodeled living room. Our parish quickly outgrew the space, and we had to convert the garage and breezeway into a temporary chapel
More Growth
Before long, even our new temporary chapel became a bit cramped. For now we are making do, and we are beyond grateful for all the attendance and kindness shown to us by our parishioners.
This is where we currently have Mass, and will continue until we move into our new chapel.

New Land
Three of our parishioners came together and provided a beautiful rural property to build our new chapel on.
This beautiful property is only 5 mins off the freeway, less than 10 mins from the heart of Grants Pass, and 30 minutes from the airport.
The Plan
Our new chapel is intended to house the faithful for years to come. Our beautiful town needs a proper house for the Blessed Sacrament and a place where the faithful can receive the Sacraments.
After construction is complete, the old chapel will be converted to a Parish Hall, and the existing home will serve as Priest's Quarters with living space, dining and laundry, and a private yard.

Making it Possible
The estimated cost to build the dry chapel structure is $700,000, fully finished $1.5M.
Archbishop Lefebvre said that if you have half the money, start the project and God will handle the rest.
We have raised $430,000 to date, and we need your help to cover the rest!
Please donate to fund the construction, volunteer your labor, or spread the word about the Latin Mass in Grants Pass.
God bless you, and may He bless this project.
